Strengthening the Great Unity of the Chinese People
Dear students,
Good morning! Standing at the forefront of this new era, looking back upon history, we are reminded that “learning from history to forge ahead, we must strengthen the great unity of the Chinese people”—a guiding principle that illuminates our path forward.
Throughout its century-long journey, the united front has been one of the Communist Party of China’s most vital strategic tools. During the New Democratic Revolution, the Party rallied all forces to overthrow the "Three Mountains" of imperialism, feudalism, and bureaucratic capitalism, laying the foundation for a new China. In the period of socialist construction, it harnessed collective wisdom to lay the groundwork for national industrialization and modernization. Since reform and opening-up, it has connected with compatriots both at home and abroad, fueling economic takeoff. By consolidating and expanding the broadest possible united front, the Party has united all sectors of society, mobilized positive forces, and enabled us to turn crises into opportunities and achieve miracles time and again. The patriotic united front has thus become the decisive force in realizing the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.
Unity is not only a traditional virtue of the Chinese nation but also a powerful weapon against adversity. For thousands of years, the Chinese people have stood together in the face of foreign invasions and natural disasters. During times of national peril in modern history, people of all ethnic groups joined hands in bloodshed to defend their dignity. In the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic, all sectors of society united as one to build an unbreakable defense line; during poverty alleviation efforts, officials and the public worked shoulder to shoulder to lift impoverished regions into prosperity. These vivid examples reveal the immense power of unity.
Today, with millions of hearts and minds aligned and working in concert, the Chinese people continue to achieve breakthroughs across diverse fields—ranging from aerospace and 5G communications to quantum computing and artificial intelligence.
Now, as we embark on a new journey, unprecedented opportunities and challenges lie before us. The world is undergoing profound changes unseen in a century, and the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation stands at a critical juncture. This demands that we uphold large-scale unity and solidarity, balancing consistency with diversity.
As college students of this new era, you bear a significant responsibility. You must strengthen ideological and political guidance, hold firm to your ideals and convictions, deepen your understanding of the greatness of socialism with Chinese characteristics, and become steadfast believers and faithful practitioners of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era. You should actively engage in social practice, gather talents from all walks of life, seek the greatest common ground, and draw the largest possible circle of unity. On campus, you are expected to live and learn harmoniously with peers from different disciplines and backgrounds, growing together. And in society, you are expected to participate in volunteer service, spread positive energy, and contribute to building a harmonious community.
Students, as the ancient saying goes:“When all strength is combined, nothing cannot be overcome; when all wisdom is pooled, nothing cannot be accomplished.” I hope you all will learn from history, carry forward the spirit of unity and struggle, and gather immense momentum on the road to national rejuvenation, writing a magnificent chapter that belongs to your generation!

亲爱的同学们，大家好！站在新时代潮头回溯历史，“以史为鉴、开创未来，必须加强中华儿女大团结”为我们指明方向。
百年奋斗历程中，统一战线是中国共产党的重要法宝。新民主主义革命时期，党团结力量推翻“三座大山”，建立新中国；社会主义建设时期，凝聚智慧为国家工业化、现代化奠基；改革开放以来，联络海内外同胞助力经济腾飞。党巩固和发展最广泛统一战线，团结各方、调动积极因素，让我们一次次化险为夷、创造奇迹，爱国统一战线成为实现民族复兴的关键力量。

如今，新征程开启，我们面临前所未有的机遇与挑战。世界正经历百年未有之大变局，实现中华民族伟大复兴处于关键时期，这要求我们坚持大团结大联合，坚持一致性和多样性统一。
作为新时代大学生，你们肩负重要使命。要加强思想政治引领，坚定理想信念，领悟中国特色社会主义的伟大，做习近平新时代中国特色社会主义思想的坚定信仰者和忠实实践者。要积极投身社会实践，广聚英才，寻求最大公约数、画出最大同心圆。在校园，与不同专业、背景的同学友好相处、共同进步；在社会，参与志愿服务，传递正能量，为构建和谐社会贡献力量。
