Rooted in over 5,000 years of Chinese civilization, socialism with Chinese characteristics draws nourishment from ancient wisdom. It emerges from more than 180 years of China’s modern struggle and exploration, has grown through over a century of the Communist Party of China’s history—where Party leadership stands as the core force—and has evolved through more than 70 years of the People’s Republic’s journey and over 40 years of reform and opening-up. In practice, it continuously advances toward the ultimate goal: common prosperity for all.
We have forged a distinctive path to modernization—one that is uniquely Chinese. With a population larger than virtually any other nation on Earth, we face complex challenges but also boundless potential. We pursue shared prosperity, ensuring no one is left behind. We emphasize the balanced development of material and spiritual progress—ensuring not only fuller wallets but also richer minds. We advocate harmony between humanity and nature, protecting our green mountains and clear waters. And we remain committed to peaceful development, advancing hand-in-hand with the world.
This path fundamentally differs from Western models of modernization. It follows the laws of social development, reflects Chinese wisdom, and offers developing nations a new, viable alternative. Socialism with Chinese characteristics has created abundant material and spiritual wealth, focusing on fulfilling people’s aspirations for a better life, delivering high-quality ecological products, safeguarding our beautiful homeland, promoting universal human values, and contributing Chinese solutions—thereby giving rise to a new form of human civilization.
Since the founding of New China, especially after reform and opening-up, socialism with Chinese characteristics has achieved miracles. In just decades, we have completed what took developed countries centuries to achieve in industrialization. We have secured rapid economic growth alongside long-term social stability. Gross domestic product has surged, per capita GDP has risen significantly, and China has ascended to the ranks of middle- and high-income nations. Our share of global GDP has increased substantially, making China the largest contributor to world economic growth, and its influence continues to expand.
We have successfully built a moderately prosperous society in all respects, eliminating absolute poverty in a historic achievement. Now, we are marching forward toward the goal of building a modern socialist country strong in all areas. The great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation has entered an irreversible historical phase.

中国特色社会主义有着深厚历史根基。它扎根 5000 多年中华文明史，汲取古老智慧养分；源自 180 多年中国近代探索抗争史；成长于 100 多年中国共产党史，党的领导是核心力量；发展于 70 多年新中国史和 40 多年改革开放史，在实践中不断进步，目标是实现共同富裕。
我们探索出独特的中国式现代化道路，特色鲜明。我国人口规模巨大，问题复杂艰巨但潜力无限；追求全体人民共同富裕，一个都不掉队；注重物质与精神文明协调，既要富口袋也要富脑袋；倡导人与自然和谐共生，守护绿水青山；坚持和平发展，与世界携手共进。
这条道路与西方现代化有本质区别。它遵循社会发展规律，展现中国智慧，为发展中国家走向现代化提供全新选择。中国特色社会主义创造了丰富物质与精神财富，满足人民对美好生活的向往；提供优质生态产品，守护美丽家园；弘扬全人类共同价值，贡献中国方案，创造了人类文明新形态。
新中国成立特别是改革开放以来，中国特色社会主义创造伟大奇迹。我们用几十年走完发达国家几百年工业化进程，实现经济快速发展与社会长期稳定。国内生产总值大幅增长，人均 GDP 攀升，成功跃升为中高收入国家；GDP 占世界比重提高，对世界经济增长贡献巨大，实现从农业大国到工业大国的转变。中国成为世界经济增长最大贡献国，影响力与日俱增。
我们如期建成全面小康社会，历史性解决绝对贫困问题，正向着全面建成社会主义现代化强国迈进，中华民族伟大复兴进入不可逆转的历史进程。
